Fischer Workshops Art Of Leathercraft Community Is Here...

Hi, For some time I have working towards making Fischer Workshops an online community that can be used to promote creatives and artisans in the leather industry like myself. A lot of what I already do on Youtube and through my website has hopefully been helpful to both novice and professional leather crafters alike. What I find just as rewarding as the craft itself is the community of people that I've been able to connect with through leathercraft and I hope that Fischer Workshops will serve to support and inspire opportunities for craft enthusiasts and professionals of the trade. 

I grew up in Arizona, USA and moved to Asia when I was 21 to participate in a Christian missions program where I met my wife Jane. Over the years I learned to speak Mandarin Chinese, (Which was challenging!😩) it's the national language of Taiwan where I lived and involved a variety of jobs and charities. Most of my professional career was spent teaching EFL (English as a foreign language) and the rest was spent in the leather trade.  An opportunity to work in the leather industry came shortly after starting my YouTube channel when I was invited to be a consultant for a leather company in Asia where I learned a lot about the craft and the trade as a whole. I also spent about 16 of my years in Taiwan as a pastor of an international Christian church that was made up of people from all over Southeast Asia, most of which were contract workers from the Philippines. Altogether I spent about 22 years in Taiwan and loved it! I moved back to the US in 2018 together with my family in a new chapter of our lives. Below is a small gallery of a few highlights along the way...
Like many others interested in working with leather, I learned most of what I know from watching other talented Youtube artists who shared their knowledge and skills through their tutorials. Starting out it was never my intention to become a Youtuber, but as time went on I began to feel compelled to share my ideas wanting to promote the craft and provide people with what I thought was much needed creative content. Fischer Workshops has grown to become one of the top leathercrafting channels on YouTube and I hope to be able to continue to focus on providing more creative leathercrafting content for years to come...
